Funeral services for Gladys Iona Pritchett of McMinnville will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Harold Otterlei officiating. Visitation is scheduled for noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, in the chapel.

Interment will be conducted at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in McMinnville. A reception will follow the graveside service in the fireplace room at Hillside Assisted Living in McMinnville.

Mrs. Pritchett died at home on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007. She was 99.

Born in Albert Lea, Minn., on July 26, 1908, she was the daughter of Albert and Mayme (Severtson) Davidson. She married Earl E. Pritchett on May 11, 1929, in her home town.

The couple moved to the Yamhill-Carlton area in 1931 and settled in Carlton in 1935. She worked at the Carlton Post Office from 1954 to 1970.

She moved to McMinnville in 1983, becoming a charter member of Hillside Communities.

She enjoyed traveling to Minnesota and Texas in her camper pickup. She liked to play cards and taught her kids to play pinochle.

She enjoyed sending birthday cards to family and friends and loved her children and grandchildren dearly, the family said.

Mrs. Pritchett is survived by two sons, Harold of Newport and Richard of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Sharon Nistler of Carlton; a brother, Keith Davidson of Emmons, Minn.; a sister, Violet Lien of Rockford, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973, along with a daughter, Shirley Webb, and two brothers and three sisters.
