Group, 726th Bomb Squadron at Fairmont Army
Air Base, Geneva, Nebraska.

He was an aerial gunner aboard B-24H Liberator
#41-29181.

While enroute to the Santon Bombing Range, his
plane crashed, due to a structural failure,
five miles southwest of Wayne, Nebraska.

Six aboard were killed, including:

2nd Lt. Cecil C Burr, Pilot
2nd Lt. Melicio M Apodaca, Bombardier
2nd Lt. William E Harnish, Co-Pilot
Sgt. Wilfred F Wood, Engineer
Sgt. Paul F Zukowski, Radio Operator

Alfred may have been from Denver, Colorado.
