Mildred A. Baker, 90, Milton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Kramm Nursing Home, Milton,w here she had resided the past 18 months. She had lived at the Centre Town Apartments, Milton, for nearly 11 years, and earlier lived in rural Danville.

Born Feb. 19, 1916, in Washingtonville, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Della (Long) Springer.She was married to LeRoy E. Baker for 29 years, until his death, Dec. 7, 1980.

She and her husband farmed near county Line Road earlier in their lives until relcating to Montour county where they resided until LeRoy's death.Mildred enjoyed her years at the Centre Town Apartments and was always eager to help a neighbor or friend while living there. She was a member of Washingtonville Lutheran church.

Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Mamie R. and Ralph Swartz , Milton; and several nieces and nephews.Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents were three brothers: Conrad Springer who died in 1931; Woodrow Springer who died in 1977; Paul Springer who died in early children and a sister Viola Wolfe, who died in 1999.

Friends and relatives are invited to call at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Melody sell, her pastor. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Lutheran Cemetery.
