Polly, Daughter of Moses Ruyle & Elizabeth Kizer, married John Record Arnold, son of Hopson Arnold & Avie Nix on 02 Jan. 1843, Macoupin Co., IL, To this marriage were born seven Children: Elizabeth, Willliam, Lucretia Jane, Henry, John, Avia Ricks, James Washington. No headstone is found for Polly. A family story says that her husband John was deaf and mute, and after dusk, when Polly needed to call him in from the fields for supper, she would climb a tree in their front yard with a lantern and wave it from the tree. This was told to Juli Claussen by her Edith Kehl Edwards.
