Mrs. Jno. Shavers
Dies at Home, San
Gabriel, January 2
Mrs. John Shavers, 72, died at her home at San Gabriel Monday, January 2, after an illness of about three years. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p. m. Tuesday at the San Gabriel Christian church by the Rev. H. E. Crone, pastor of the Rockdale Christian Church, and burial was made in the Locklin cemetery.
Mary Ann Leverett was born in Atlanta, Ga., on July 6, 1867. She was married to John Shavers November 2, 1884, her husband preceeding [sic] her in death two years ago last November.
Eleven children survive, as follows: Mrs. Ellen Watterson, of Taylor; Mrs. R. D. Brewer, Taylor; Silas Shavers, Dallas; Fred Shavers, Waco; Henry Shavers, Thorndale; Mose Shavers, San Gabriel; Mrs. Rosa Wilson, Littlefield; Johnnie Shavers, Los Angeles, Cal.; Alva Shavers, Taylor; Mrs. M. B. Hickman, Franklin; Mrs. Ira Partain, San Gabriel.
