Johnny Brown
A resident of Port Allen, he died at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid-City. He was 70. Visiting at Hall's Celebration Center on Tuesday, July 31, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Katie Parker, pastor. Interment in Old Folk Cemetery, Port Allen. Repass at Port Allen Community Center following the service. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Early and Jessica Early, both of Baton Rouge; two sons, Christopher Early and Elliott Wilkins and his fiancée, Camiel Carrier, all of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Delores Franklin of Port Allen and Bernadine B. Carey of Greenbelt, Md.; a brother, Lionel and wife Faye Brown of Heightsville, Md.; four grandchildren, Amber Early, Lakeisha Allen, Taylor Wilkins and Kayla Early, all of Baton Rouge; two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Brandy Dunbar, both of Baton Rouge; a host of nieces and nephews; and a godchild, Xavier LeJeune. He was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet Brown; father, Edward Brown; brother, Percy Brown; grandson, Dylan Wilkins; sister, Mildred Talbot and her husband, Lloyd Talbot Sr.; and two stepsisters, Lillian B. Hollins and Lillie B. Jones. He graduated in 1957 from Cohn High in Port Allen and Capitol Area Vocational School in 1959.
