This is in memory of my great-grandmother. She was my father's (Thomas Ducote) grandmother, his mother's (Lula Ducote) mother. She married my great-grandfather, Syphorien Gauthier, on 10/17/1868 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura, La. Together they raised eight children in Avoyelles Parish. Their family spoke French until some of the children learned English upon going to school.
