Robert Shelby Wilson was the oldest son of Sherman Hardin Wilson and Minnie Bell Wilson. He was born July 5, 1895 according to his headstone and 1896 according to his death certificate-I tend to think 1896 is correct as he is listed as 4 years old on the 1900 census. He had 12 brothers and sisters. He married Nina Gladys Tietge on October 1, 1916 in Liberty, Missouri. They had four children: Robert Shelby Wilson oldest son. Triplets Everette, Eva and an unknown infant that died at birth. Robert and Nina divorced in 1928 and he married Mabel Lee Sterling on May 30, 1930. They had one daughter (name unknown by me at this time)Both of his parents died in 1931 only 17 days apart. Twelve days after his mother's passing, he went to Osage County, Kansas and beat up a Charles Wilson. Robert had never been in any kind of trouble before. He had a family and was a cab driver in Kansas City. He went to the Kansas Penitentiary in 1931 for assult with intent to kill Charles Wilson. He was sentenced to 1 to 10 years at hard labor. He was released in 1934 for good behavior and five months later Robert was shot robbing a meat company in Kansas City, Missouri September of 1934--He lingered in the hospital for almost 2 months and died of the wound on November 12, 1934 at the age of 38 years.
