Mrs. Kahler was born April 2, 1924, in Chariton County, the daughter of George and Rosa (Arp) Tietjens. She was united in marriage to Charles V. Kahler who preceded her in death.
She previously worked at a nursing home as a cook and was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, several prayer groups and enjoyed sewing, card clubs and spending tine at the senior center.
Mrs. Kahler is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Joanie Kahler of Brunswick; a daughter, Carol Kistler, Marshall, Missouri; a sister, Goldie Kahler, Brunswick, Missouri; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at McCurry-Berry Funeral Home in Brunswick on Friday, June 2, 2000. Burial was in Elliott Grove Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church.
