"Bill" Jordan had a full career in the U. S. Border Patrol, which included breaks for WWII and the Korean Police Action with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He retired from both at the same time in 1965 wit the reak of Asst. Chief Patrol Inspector in the Border Patrol and Major in the Marine Reserve. Firearms, shooting and hunting have been a way of life for Bill. He attained the top National Rifle Assn. ratings of Lifetime Master with smallbore rifle, bog bore rifle, and handgunn; AA Skeet and Trap; won Distinguished Marksman medal awarded by the U.S. Department of Civilian Marksmanship and was the fourth man to be honored as winner of the Outstanding American Handgunner Award - which includes induction in the National Handgun Hall of Fame. Jordan was largely responsible for convincing Smith & Wesson to develop the K-frame series (S&W Model 19 and S&W Model 66) of .357 Magnum revolvers.
During the eleven year period he served as NRA Field Representative, Bill Jordan did handgun shooting exhibitions in all the Unitied States and in many foreign countries. This included national television shows such as "You Asked For It"; "To Tell The Truth"; "Wide Wide World"; "I've Got A Secret" and "Sports Afield" with Grets Gresham.
Bill has written many articles for shooting and gun magazines and wrote 3 books "No Second Place Winner"; "Mostly Huntin'" and "Tales of the Rio Grande"
