He was said to have been very wealthy with quite a few slaves. His property (said to have been about 1500 acres) was in the Liberty Methodist Church area; north side of Highway 414 (between N. Campbell Road and Highway 14); along both sides Lister Road (between Highway 14 and Tugaloo Road); and along both sides of Pleasant Hill Road (between Highway 414 and Smith Road). He and Esther had eight children: Moses, Jane Henson, Carter, Rosalinda Morrow, Manurva Morrow, D. C., Mary Wingo, and Margaret Lanford.
It was reported that his home (no longer standing) was in Greenville County, SC, on the southwest side of Lister Road, about 100 yards northwest of the intersection with Pleasant Hill Road, lat/lon coordinates are approximately N 35-06-12, W -82-14-53.

It is believed that he was buried in the Lister Family Cemetery, but no readable stone has been found.
