Written by one of his children, perhaps Phila Phrene Trim:

Solomon Pendleton Trim was the son of Maria Argent and Hyrum Pendleton Trim. He married Lois Ann Workman July 16, 1890 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a farmer in Salt Lake County, Utah. They moved to Vernal, Utah where he was engaged in the sheep business with his father until 1902. He then engaged in the mercantile business and was the first undertaker in Vernal. He was a member of the city council.

They moved to San Diego, California for Lois's health. Apparently, the climate in Vernal, Utah was too harsh for her. In the 1916 City Directory of San Diego we find Solomon and Lois were the proprietors of the Ivanhoe Apartments. In the 1917 Directory, Solomon and Lois are in business as the Crescent Hemstitching Company located at 525 C Street, Room 202. Virtu is listed as a bookkeeper and Estella as a seamstress.

In 1919 and 1920, Ionia is listed as working for her parents. The younger girls are not listed as working there although I remember my mother saying that she did a lot of tatting at home that was used to trim the linens that were made in this business.

When they got older Lois had trouble with arthritis in her shoulder. A grandchild remembers Lois was a healthy and active person, never walking but running where ever she went. Solomon had a mild stroke in his seventies that made him use a cane to walk.
