1751: It's generally accepted that Owen, at about 26 years of age, arrived in Colonial America from Wales. He may have been married to Sarah Owen, and she may have been pregnant with son Philip.
(Note... New evidence shows that Owen may have arrived earlier. In his Revolutionary War pension application, son Philip states that he was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1751)
1751-1754: Owen likely worked these years as an indentured servant, perhaps to Sarah's father, Samuel.
1754-1760: Owen served in the French & Indian war for a short period within this window, most likely as a wagon driver for General Braddock.
1760 Aug 20: About 35 years of age, living in Frederick County, Maryland, Owen purchased land on Lick Run (perhaps present-day Licking Creek) in or near Little Cove, Pennsylvania.
1766: Owen's 1st wife, Sarah, has died and he has taken Hannah James as his second wife. They are members of Tonoloway Baptist Church in Bedford County, PA (present day Fulton County).
1771: Owen, now about 46 years of age, and Hannah, transfer to Great Bethel Baptist Church in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
1784: Owen and Hannah join others to found the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Smithfield, Pennsylvania.
1785: Owen is voted Deacon of Mount Moriah, likely the 1st Deacon. He's now about 60 years old.
1810: Owen dies at age 84 and is buried on his farm. It's likely a few other family members were also buried in the farm cemetery.
1811-1934: Somewhere in this window of time Owen's property is sold, tombstones are removed, and both tombstones and the exact burial location are soon lost.
1995: Davis family researcher, George Lee Davis, locates and photographs three stones, one of them Owen's. He's asked not to reveal the location, and he honors that request.
2019 May: Owen's 4th great-granddaughter passes away. In her will, she passes the stones on to Owen's 5th great-grandson... a pleasant surprise.
2019 October: Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery sets the stones as a Cenotaph.

It's likely the actual burial location is within two miles, at an approximate heading of 140 degrees, from this Cenotaph.
