Lenox married Anna Elizabeth "Nannie" Houck on October 3, 1871 in Putman County, Indiana. Her family lived on the next farm over from Lenox's in Putnam County. They were the parents of Effie May, Nellie, Lena "Lennie", Lycurgus William "Curge W", John Edward, Ross Albert, Mabel Clara, Lulu Olive, Gertrude Blanche, and Verner Allison.
Lenox was a farmer who migrated from Putnam County, Indiana to Pleasant Grove Township, Greenwood County, Kansas in the late 1870's, where they continued to farm. In his older years Lenox moved his family into the town of Eureka, Greenwood County, which along with Toronto, Woodson County, were the two towns of any size close to Pleasant Grove Township, though Neal, Greenwood County was the closest little town.
