Death of Mrs. Montayne

Mrs Frances Worden Montayne aged 78 years, and one of the oldest residents of the West Side, passed away yesterday, death being due to the infirmities of advanced years. The deceased was born in Wilkes Barre, Mrs. Montanye has lived at West Pittston for the past forty six years and has been residing in a house on Washington Street the past forty five years. She was for many years a member of the Wyoming Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and was a past matron of the chapter. Mrs. Montayne is survived by her daughter and the following brother and sisters: William Worden and Mrs. Ruth Shafer, of Burlington, IA; Mrs Augusta Whie and Mrs. A. McArthur, of Chicago; Mrs. Ellen D. Wells of Long Beach, Cal, and Samuel A. Worden of Pamoroa, IL. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial in Forty Fort cemetery.

Past Matron of her Wyoming Chapter and also was Worthy Grand Matron to the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania in 1897-1898.
