Elmer Barney Allen, son of James M. and Susan J. Allen, was born February 14, 1878 at Oak, Nebraska, and passed away February 14, 1964, at the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson, Nebraska. He was 86 years of age. He lived on a farm near Oak for 84 years, then he and his wife moved to Nelson to make their home. Mr. Allen was amember (sic) of the Methodist Church at Nora, Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife, Dessie Pearl; two sons, Job of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, and Loyd of Sacramento, California; two daughters, Emily of Nelson and Julietta Malpert of Johnson, Nebr. Three grandsons, Leroy J. Allen and Clifford and Norman Malpert; two great granddaughters: Cheryl and Linda Allen; and three step grandchildren, Charles, Barbara, and Mitzy Young.
Two sons, Charles and Harold, and one grand daughter, Geraldine Malpert, precedded (sic) him in death.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at the Nora Methodist Church with Rev. Clay O'Dell officiating.
Casket bearers were: Jim Moore, Henry Malpert, Otis Kershner, Arbor Ferebee, Chester Shipman, and Vic Crandel. Interment was in the Oak Cemetry (sic).
Out of town relatives here for the funeral were: Mr. Loyd Allen of Sacramento, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Job Allen of Ft. Morgan Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Malpert and son of Johnson, Mrs. Orpha Dew and Mrs. Daisy Gasink of York, Mrs. Dora Burkett and Mrs. Glen Shipley of Fairbury, Mr. Gifford Erickson and Mrs. Walter Mutler of Yuma, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Marion Baker of Topeka, Kans., Mr. and Mrs. Otto Yastron and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Segner of Friend.
