Roy A. Sterner, 78, Hanover R.D.1, husband of Mrs. Ethel Mae Wildasin Sterner, died last midnight at the Hanover General Hospital, where he was admitted two weeks ago. He and his wife would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary Thursday. He was a life member of Christ United Church of Christ, near Littlestown, where he was a consistory member for many terms, treasurer of the building fund, former sexton and members of the Adult Bible Class taught by the pastor, the Rev. G. Howard Koons. He resided in Adams County all his life and engaged in farming until retirement in 1960. Born in Union Township, Adams County, he was a son of the late Jacob. L. and Savannah Myers Sterner. Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Ivan (Beatrice) E. Arentz, Littlestown R.D.2; Clyde L., and Glenn W. Sterner, Hanover R. D. 1, and Mrs. Charles (Ruth) A. Grove, New Oxford R.D. 1; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild and two brothers and four sisters, Elder Sterner, 843 McAllister Street; Harry Sterner, 121 Jackson Street; Mrs. Clara Kindig, 22 Monroe Street; Mrs. Bertha Garrett, 316 Centennial Ave; Mrs. Harry (Carrie) Bankert, 1415 Baltimore Street. Interment in Christ Church Cemetery, Littlestown.
