Kathy Hazelwood, 53, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007, in Redding, Calif. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Brown officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 2, at the funeral home.

Kathy was born in Clifton, Texas, to John P. and Naida (Prause) Langan. She graduated from LaVega High School, attended McLennan Community College for a year, Texas State Technical College for a year, and finished majoring in medicine and medical records from Shasta College in Longview-Kelso, Wash. When Mt. St. Helen's volcano erupted, she was living just 37 miles away in Castle Rock, Wash., where she met and married Sgt. Frank Hazelwood. She later moved to Redding, Calif., where she spent many years. Kathy was a very loving person with a smile for everyone she met. The pride and joy of her life were her two sons and grandson.

She was preceded in death by her father, John P. Langan, of Rochester, N.Y.; her grandparents, Vera and "Dutch" Prause; three uncles; and one aunt.

Survivors include her sons, Cpl. Joshua Adam Hazelwood, of Ft. Lewis, Wash., Jordan Michael Hazelwood and his wife, Ashley, of Redding, Calif.; grandson, Jordan Jr., of Redding, Calif.; mother, Naida Prause Langan Yarbrough, of Bellmead; sister, Patricia Langan Aldridge, of College Station; brother, Rodney Earle Yarbrough, of Waco; two uncles; two aunts; one niece; and one nephew.
