He was named after his grandfather Mads Peter Nielsen

(Mads) Peter Christiansen and Nielsine "Sina" Christensen were married May 13, 1902 in Washinton County, Nebraska. This union was blessed with seven children:

Peter Christiansen Funeral Held April 1

Peter Christiansen, 86, of West Rainier died at his home Friday, March 30 after a long illness. He had suffered a stroke about 3 1/2 years ago, and was always somewhat helpless after that, thought after the first few months, he had been up and around at his home. The family came to Rainier 18 years ago from Dupree, South Dakota, first living in the town of Rainier for a couple of years before moving to their present home in West Rainier.

He was born in Denmark Jan. 27, 1865. He is survived by the widow, Nielsine; three sons, Victor of Albany, Ore., Einer of Mansfield, Ohio and Rubert of Seattle; three daughters, Mrs. Dagmar Paterson, Mrs. Margaret Gage, and Miss Helen Christensen, all of Seattle; one brother, Jens, of Pender, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs Pauline Knutsen of Blair, Nebraska; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He had been a continuous member of IOOF lodge for the last 45 years keeping his membership in Mento Lodge, No. 321, at Dupree, South Dakota.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, April 1, in the Rainier Methodist church.

Rev. Orval C. Johnson preached the funeral service Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lilly of Salem, who were family friends, sang. Mrs. O.C. Johnson furnished the piano music. At the conclusion of the church service, the local IOOF lodge held services. The also conducted the graveside service in Green Mountain cemetery.
