Sarah Ann "Sallie" Jackson Evans married Joel W. Pepper, son of William and Sally Pepper, March 1, 1864, He was age 53, a widower, born in Montgomery County, Virginia, and profession listed as a Trader. Sallie is listed as being 49 yrs. old, a widow born in Alexandria, Virginia and the daughter of James [sic] and Jane Jackson. They were married by A. Flaherty. (Montgomery County Virginia Marriage Register 1, 1854-1902, positive reel 31, page 13.)
Note that Sallie's father is listed as James Jackson. This, I believe is an error and should, in fact, be Richard Jackson.
