Jane, aka Jenny and/or Janny, was the first known child born to Anthony Haden and Drucilla Roun(d)tree. She was born/christened 9 Jan 1768/16 Feb 1768 in Goochland County, Virginia. A bond was issued 7 Sep 1786 in Campbell County, Virginia, where Jenny Haden was to marry Charles Gilbert - son of Aquilla Gilbert and Elizabeth Butterworth. Jenny's father, Anthony Haden, was bondsman.

Two years later on 26 Sep 1788, Charles and Jane "Jenny" Gilbert sold to Thomas Clark, 330 acres on both sides of the south fork of Seneca Creek, which was also where Jenny's father had been living for about two years prior. Shortly after the above sale in 1790, Charles and Jenny were living in Fayette County, Kentucky, on Thomas Run of the South Branch of Elkhorn Creek/River; where Jenny's Uncle - William Haden had moved to a few years prior; and where her brother - John M. Haden and wife would also move; and where in 1817 her half brother William Dabney Haden would marry.

By 1809, Charles and Jenny Gilbert were "of Logan County" and sold land in neighboring Warren County on the Big Barren River, to Adrian Davenport of Ohio for $1 (Logan Co DB B, p.580). Charles died 20 Apr 1824. His will was written/probated in Logan County 4 Mar 1824/3 May 1824. The History of Johnson County, Missouri, says Jane/Jenny, moved to Johnson County, Missouri, after Charles' death, to live with her daughter Mary/Polly, on the Oglesby homestead.

It's likely her middle initial "H" stood for Harris or Hopkins.
