Hazel Valentine Weatherill, longtime Antelope Valley resident since 1947, passed away Jan 19, 2002 in Quartz Hill, at the age of 88. Mrs. Weatherill is survived by her children Betty Stinson, Sharon Kenny, Janet Parks & Kathy Wise. Also survived by eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, one brother as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Mrs. Weatherill was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one grandchild, three great-grandchildren & four brothers. Private services were held on Tuesday, Jan 22, 2002. Mumaw Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Palmdale, Ca.
Hazel Valentine Kent was the daughter of Dexter Kent & Lura Odessa (Martin) Kent. She was born & raised with 8 siblings in Santa Ana, Orange Co., California Feb. 14,1913. In 1935 she met & married Harold Melburn Kenny & had two daughters. Harold was killed in an automobile accident after 14 years together. They started a business together. In 1951 she met & married Harry Owen (Mike) Weatherill & he helped with the old business & added a new venture which kept them both very busy until Mikes death in 1986.
Cremated, ashes buried at Desert Lawn Memorial Park between her husband Harry Weatherill & her grandchildren.
