May you Rest in Peace Uncle Grass. You were a fighter. My Uncle Grass came from very humble beginnings. He and his siblings pretty much grew up with nothing. My Uncle Grass was very successful in his life despite his rough childhood. He had a good job and retired after many years. He and Aunt Yvette raised their family together and he loved his family. Uncle Grass had heartbreak over the years with deaths of Grandma, his siblings along with other loved family members. Uncle Grass endured many struggles including his own cancer diagnosis. He fought a long hard battle!!! The highlight was his grandchildren. They always put a sparkle in his eye. I have always had the most respect for this man, he was a good man. So Uncle Grass you take that rest now that you so needed. Until we meet again. You are so loved and will be missed.

Yesterday my grandfather passed away. One of the greatest opportunities in my life was to grow up with the most amazing man I could have asked for. He was always there for me when others faltered, and made sure he put me first whenever I was around. Against my mom's wishes, he would make me baked potatoes and bologna every morning for breakfast and lunch when I wanted it. He drove me to school and sat at the bus stop with me and my neighbors to make sure we got to school alright. He would take his big snow truck and make my sister and I snow forts to play in. Even if it was freezing outside, he would take us sledding around the backyard. I remember him driving me to and from Sumava almost every day one summer so I could hang out with my childhood friend while my grandma was at work. Anyone who met him knew that he was a kind and caring person. I love him with all my heart and it is so difficult to say goodbye to someone who has been there for you your whole life. I know that where he is now is better, and he is no longer in pain. I am so grateful you were in my life grandpa and I love you so much. I miss you more than you could imagine. I know I will see you one day and that is all I can ask for.
