Elma N. Adkins Wright Bartley, 79, of Trimble, passed away, Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at a North Kansas City Hospital.

She was born on January, 23, 1922 to Robert L. and E. Nina (Babcock) Adkins near Edgerton. Elma grew up near Edgerton, and later graduated from Edgerton High School.

On April 25, 1942 she was united in marriage to John H. Wright. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton until 1955 when they moved to Trimble where they made their home. John passed away on March 16, 1984. On October 9, 1992 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Bartley. After their marriage they lived in Trimble where they made their home. Kenneth preceded her in death on February 27, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Jack Adkins, Charles Adkins, Bruce Adkins, Frank Adkins, and Roger Adkins,; one sister, Loraine Boswell; and a step-son, Jim Bartley.

Survivors include a daughter, Lana Wright, Trimble; a son, Johnny Wright and wife Shirley, Smithville; two grandchildren, Shelly Ann Ivy, Lathrop, Jimmy Wright, Smithville; four great-grandchildren, Brooke, Sasha, T.J. and Alex; one step-son, Earl Bartley, Sunrise Beach; three step-daughters, Kennie Jean Duncan, North Kansas City, Marsha Dickey, Kansas City, and Marie Pyke, Osage Beach; a brother, Robert Adkins, St. Joseph; five sisters, Anna Maude VanHoozer, Platte City, Hazel Bledsoe, Gower, Carolyn Williams, Dearborn, Beulah Cantrell, Gower, Linda Hyatt, Edgerton; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001 at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with burial in the Stony Point cemetery, Trimble.
