Simonne Marie (Morin) LaPointe She was born on September 23, 1915, in St-Léonard ville, New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of Jean-Baptiste 'John' O. Morin and Alice S. (Cormier). One of eleven children, Simonne grew up in Canada; but the family eventually moved to New Hampshire. A retired hospital aide, Simonne settled in Salt Springs, Florida, in 1973.
Simonne passed away at age 73, on June 10, 1989 at her home in Salt Springs. She was survived by her husband, Joseph LaPointe; three sons, Robert LaPointe of Hollywood, Florida, and Archie LaPointe and Richard LaPointe, both of Salt Springs; two brothers, Roland Morin and Conrad Morin, both of New Hampshire; and three sisters, Bernadette (Morin) Cyr of Hartford, Connecticut, and Blanche (Morin) Bossé and Lorraine Morin, both of Maine. She also left behind 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Her interment was held at the Salt Springs Memorial Gardens with the Hiers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
