Mrs. Josephine Shiflett, 81, Gadsden, Route 7, died Thursday at 9:30 p.m. at a local hospital after several weeks illness.
Survivors include a son, Virgil Shiflett, Anniston; five daughters, Mrs. Vesnie Hutt and Mrs. Verla Robertson, Gadsden, Mrs. Inis Frier and Mrs. Dot Glass, Anniston and Mrs. Exer Newell, Haleyville and 30 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Young's Chapel Methodist Church and burial will follow in adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Shiflett was a native of Randolph County, a former resident of Anniston and had resided in Etowah County for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
