Gloria May Thomas of Yardley, Pa., passed away Nov. 30, 2018, at Robert Wood Johnson Compassionate Care Hospice, Hamilton, N.J. She was 77. Born in Trenton, N.J., Gloria was a lifelong resident of Yardley, Pa. She attended the Yardley and Makefield Schools and graduated from Pennsbury High School. She continued her education at Thomas Edison State College.

She was formally employed by Mercer Hospital, and was a retiree of the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor and Industry with over 49 years of dedicated service. She was a faithful lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she was a member of the Missionary Ministry, Super Senior Choir, the Women’s Ministry and Thursday Noon Bible Study. She was also, Co-Founder and Leader of the Shiloh Brownie and Girl Scout Troop #47 for seven years. She was a volunteer at the Annual Shiloh Back Pack Give Away and Community Children’s Toy Give Away. In the Community, Gloria was a past member of the Metro Civic League, the Yardley Community Civic Club and the NAACP. She was a current member of Echo Inc.

Gloria was the daughter of the late Willie and Arlila Thomas, and sister of the late Juanita Daniels, Lucille Lang, Mazie and Maryann Thomas, and Lafayette Thomas. She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Deborah Daniels Norman (Dennie Sr.); her nephews, William Daniels Jr. (Kathy), and Larry Thomas; her nieces, Gail, Valerie, and Leslie Thomas, and Tracey Walker; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Way Trenton, N.J. Calling hours will be from 8 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, N.J.
