Campbell Maynard "Doc" Gayler was the son of Calvin Smith Gayler and Cassandra Parrish.

He first married Mary Ann Texas Sizemore 22 January 1879
Columbus,Cherokee,KS,(Book B-432). They were the parents of nine children.
