Obituary of Mrs. Noah Anliker

Last week's Journal mentioned briefly the death of Mrs. Noah Anliker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schmidt, which occurred in University Hospital, Iowa City, about 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 16. Mrs. Anliker left for Iowa City the first time on Feb. 16, 1943, and was there for ten weeks when she came home for a while, and again returned on June 5th. All that medical skill and loving hands could do was done, but to no avail.

Funeral services wer eheld at the Apostolic church Thursday afternoon. They were attended by a large number of sorrowing relatives and freinds. Rev. Jos. Banwart had charge of the services. He was ably assisted by Rev. Albert Wuthrich of Pulaski, Iowa, and Rev. Mike Miller of Winthrop, Minn. The pall bearers were Wm. Metzger, George Bruellman, Ray Banwart, Earl Banwart, George Sauder and Dan Bawrt. Interment was at the Apostolic Cemetery. Jerry Schutter had charge of the funeral.

Elizabeth Martha Schmidt was born on the farm home near Ottosen, Iowa, January 21, 1899. At the time of her death she was 44 years, 6 months and 26 days of age.

She was united in marriage to Noah Anliker on January 18, 1919. To this union twelve children were born: Raymond, U.S.N., Norfolk, Va.; Mrs. Ed (Irene) Neighbors; Alice, who preceded her mother in death January 12, 1941; Richard, Earl, Hazel, Helen, Leona, Paul, Daniel, and Rachel, who are at home near Rutland, Iowa; and Esther, who makes her home with Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Wilson in West Bend. Deceased also leaves to mourn her death her husband, six brothers and two sisters: Mrs. R.G. Wilson of West Bend; Mrs. J.H. Moadinger of Winthrop, Minn.; Henry, Fred and Chris Schmidt, all of Winthrop, Minn., and Mike, Conrad and Earnest Schmidt of Ottosen.

Mrs. Anliker was a kind and loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed in teh home, and she will be remembered by all who knew her as a willing and conscientious worker.
