The deceased was born in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County, this State, September 22, 1830, and at the time of his death wa aged 81 years, 10 months, and 2 days. He was the son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Keckler) Weaver. The father of the subject of this sketch was a miller, and his son adopted his vocation. In the spring of 1855 Mr. Weaver moved to Loysville, this county. In 1857 he rented a mill in Madison Township, but returned to Loysville in 1860 and remained there for twenty years. In 1880 he went back to Madison Township, and remained there for two years. During 1882-83 he resided in Cumberland County and in the latter year he purchased the mill at Loysville which was thereafter known as Weaver's Mill. In 1883 to 1889 he met with severe loss by floods, but he built up a large trade and aquired a competency by hard work and integrity and honesty.
In April 1855 Mr. Weaver married Susanna, daughter of George and Catharine (Loy) Ritter, who survives him with the following children; John C. who has operated the mill for some years; Catharine, widow of the late Jacob Lightner, residing in Tyrone Township, and Annie--Mrs. D.H. Minich of Newport.
The deceased was a consistant member of the Reformed Church for many years and died in the faith, beloved and honored by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at his late residence, Saturday, his pastor, Rev. R.E. Leinbach, officiating.
