Son of John Swinford (b Mar 17, 1837 Harrison Co. d Mar 1910 s of Matthew Swinford & Frances Pollard)& Nancy Jane
Rose (b Sept 6, 1850 d 1884 dau of Thomas Rose & Caroline Garnett), brother to Thomas, Cora, & Edmund Swinford. His ancestor, Edmund Pollard served in the Am. Rev. War. James married his beloved Myrtle Baine Watson in Harrison Co. Ky on Mar 10, 1897, parents of Althea who m: Thomas H. Hutton, Myrtle Louise m: Wm. E. Clark; & Cordelia m: Geo. S. Fleishman.
