He is a native of Millwood, and he has lived most of his in Waycross. He was formerly employed by Dale Industries as a machinist, and he attended Indian Mound Baptist Church.
He is the son of the late David Miller Morgan and Nora Vae Sills Morgan Nelson. He is preceded in death by a son, Phillip Morgan.
Survivors include a special companion, Carolyn Thornton of Waycross; his children's mother, Corine Calhoun Morgan of Homerville; three daughters, Tammy Bennett of Homerville, Sheila "Penny" Oliver of Waycross, and Alicia Thornton of Waycross; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; three sisters, Cassie Sikes (husband Jerry) of Waycross, Dorothy Puckett of Waycross, and Linda Nelson of Blackshear; three brothers, Bobby Morgan (wife Geraldine) of Waycross, Junior Morgan (wife Lynn) of Millwood, and Larry Morgan (wife Linda) of Millwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 17, 2006) at Indian Mound Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hargraves Chapel Cemetery in Millwood. The family will receive friends 6 until 9 p.m. Monday at the church.
