Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Red Top Cemetery in Graham with the Rev. Gary Tull of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Carter was born June 6, 1917, in Graham to Tom and Matilda Rutherford. She had lived in Amarillo since November 2004. She was a homemaker and member of South Georgia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Enoch Carter.
Survivors include four daughters, Carol Cox of Boiling Springs, S.C., Jackie Peyton of Bryson, Patricia Judd of Winona, Minn., and Kathy L. Nichols of Amarillo; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a local church.
