Exerpt from wife Charles Swan's obituary:

Mina came to Minnesota in 1880 and lived there for five years. On July 2nd, 1885, she married Charley Swan, a railroad contractor, of Minneapolis, Minn. They continued with railroad construction for three years in the states of Iowa, Wisconsin, Montana, Minnesota, North Dakota and Illinois.

In 1888 they bought a farm near Clarkfield, Minn., with they resided for thirteen years. To this union six children were born. In 1900 the family moved to Washington, buying a farm twelve miles east of Goldendale, where Charles Swan passed away Jan. 9th, 1912.

She leaves to mourn her passing five children: Clara Clemen, Emma Schuster, Lillie Conlee and Andrew Swan, all of Goldendale, and Alma Paulsen, of Seattle; one brother, Casper Holter, of Foley, Minn.; thirteen grandchildren, and a host of friends.
