Palo Alto July 31. Leland Stanford Argall, 59, Vice President and Director of California Packing Corp. died today at his home in nearby Atherton. He had been ill for several weeks.

LELAND ARGALL DIES AT AGE 59

Leland Stanford Argall, vice-president of the California Packing corporation and former Spokane resident, died August 1 (sic) at his home in Atherton, Calif., according to word received here. He had been ill for several weeks.
Mr. Argall, 59, was the eldest son of a prominent pioneer Spokane family. His father, the late John C. Argall, served as commissioner of finance for Spokane at one time.
Mr. Argall graduated from the old Spokane high school and was president of his senior class. He married the former Miss Lillian LaRue, a well-known Spokane musician, August 16, 1916.
He had a long and eventful business career and at the time of his death supervised all California Packing corporations activities in eastern Florida, the midwest and mountain states divisions. He also was active in civic and fraternal organizations. He was a member of the Scottish Rite bodies of the midwest, the Medinah Shrine temple of Chicago, and was a charter member if Alpha Delta Phi fraternity of Stanford University from which he graduated in 1915.
Survivors include his widow, Lillian, at the home; a son, John L., at the home; a daughter, Mrs. Charles S. Wilson Jr., California, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Lund, formerly of Spokane , but now living in Los Angeles.
Private services were held at Atherton.
