Circleville Union Herald January 31 1879:

William Mc Gritty, an aged citizen of Harrison Twp., died Tuesday last from injuries received from a fall on the Sunday previous. Mr. Mc Gritty had been in feeble health for a long time and Sunday last, while engaged in feeding his poultry, he slipped and fell on a piece of scantling, injuring himself to such an extent as to render him entirely helpless and resulted in his death as before stated. The decreased was probably 75 years old.

William H. McGarity vrs. John McGarity and others
On April 18, 1879 a petition was filed by William McGarity. Stating that on January 20, 1879 William McGarity died interstate owning 80 acres in Harrison Twp. and 52 acres in Madison Twp. The said William McGarity left Ellen McGarity as his widow and that she is an imbecile with John Blackwood as her court appointed guardian. He also left the following heirs, William McGarity, George McGarity, James McGarity, Stephen McGarity, Edward McGarity, Rebecca Shannon wife of Daniel, Elizabeth wife of George, Sarah Reid, wife of Robert, Laura Kissel a minor age 10, Evaline Kissel age 8, and Carrie (Caddy) Kissel age 6, Minor children of Catherine Kissel(nee McGarity) dec'd. She was the wife of Aaron Kissel and they reside in Hancock Co., Ohio.
