Thomas Rothrock was the eldest of nine known children of Daniel Rothrock (1794-1880) and Anna Margaretha Boeckel Rothrock (1802-1861). Thomas lived his life in present-day Forsyth County, North Carolina; living just north of the present day Forsyth-Davidson Couinty border. He was Moravian in faith, attending the Friedberg Moravian Church, where he is buried in it's cemetery.

Thomas married Salome Lucinda (went by Lucinda) Holder (1823-1886) on 27 Sep 1845 at Stokes (present day Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Thomas and Lucinda were the parents of three and possibly four children. The three were all sons and the fourth child, a girl, is thought to have been the twin of the youngest son. The children were:

1. John Henry Rothrock (1847-1917)
2. Daniel Martin Rothrock (1849-1927)
3. Naaman Abraham Rothrock (1851-1877)
4. Isabella Rothrock (1851-young?)

After Thomas died, Lucinda remarried to John Brown on 09 May 1857 at Forsyth County, North Carolina and had one (or two?) additional child by John. Or was Isabella really born in 1858 (and died in 1930) and married Parker Everheart? If so, she would have been Isabella Brown, as her mother remarried in 1857 to John Brown.
