Claude Avery Frisbee was born Nov. 16, 1897 near the community of Winside in Wayne County, Nebraska. He spent his early life around Guide Rock and in the Lincoln area. He was a former resident of the Wabash community.
June 18, 1917, he enlisted in the United States Army, Battery C, 20th Field Artillery, with active service in France.
Early in the year, 1920, Claude traveled to California and thru the then rough country to Alaska. After a year's stay, he returned to the States and settled in Richmond, Ill.
Claude Frisbee became the Road Commissioner for Richmond Township in Illinois. He served in this capacity for 20 years. With the usual ceremony he retired in 1964 with commendation for his loyal service. Finding the winters long and hard, he sought a better climate and moved to Wickenburg, Ariz. to retire, in 1965. He passed away in the community of Wichenburg, Jan 14, 1969. He was a member of the Methodist church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Frisbee; his mother, Lucy Frisbee; 3 brothers: Guy, Leon and Lloyd; 2 sisters: Ollie and Mildred.
Those left to mourn his passing are sisters: Mrs. Leonard Rush, Mrs. John Wissink, Mrs. Lucy Henderson, Mrs. Leo Mullen, Mrs. Peter Filbert; brothers, Raymond Frisbee and Floyd Frisbee.
