James Crast's Funeral Is Held

James E. Crast of Sand Place, Mannsville, formerly of Route 11, Sandy Creek, died Nov. 27, 196T in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown. He was 74 and had always lived in the Boylston and Sandy Creek area.

His funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cleveland Funeral home in Sandy Creek. The Rev. John Crandall, pastor of Redfield Wesleyan Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in Wesleyan cemetery, Lacona.

Mr. Crast was born in the Town of Boylston June 26, 1893. His parents were the late Eli and Margaret Snyder Crast. He attended school in Boylston and on July 3, 1910 was married in Lacona to Miss Blanche Peters, she died in 1964.

Leaves 7 Children

Surviving him are three sons, Leonard Crast of Adams; Eli Crast of Louisville, Ky. and James Crast, now serving with the U. S. Army in Okinawa. He also leaves four daughters, Vera (Mrs. Frank Sischo) of Adams; Virginia (Mrs. Hal McDougal) of Sandy Creek; Nancy (Mrs. Richard Bulluck), Mannsville and Martha (Mrs. Norman Higgins) of San Diego, Calif. Mr. Crast's grandchildren number 21, and his greatgrandchildren nine. One brother, Ivan Crast of Lacona survives, and there are several nephews and nieces.

Mr. Crast was a retired carpenter and a 50-year member
of Sandy Creek Grange.
