John E. Addenbrook, 88, Ex-Councilman, Contractor

Virginia Beach - John Eachus Addenbrook, 88, of 211 69th St., retired president of J.U. Addenbrook & Sons, Inc., construction and concrete contractors, died Wednesday in a nursing home.
A native of Erdington, a suburb of Birmingham, England, he came to this country as a child with his family. He was the husband of Mrs. Margaret Byrne Addenbrook and a son of John U. and Mrs. Alice Turner Addenbrook. He lived in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach area 70 years. At one time, he was on the Norfolk City Council. He was a former member of the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club and the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club and a member of Galilee Episcopal Church.
Besides his widow, surviving are two sons, John U. Addenbrook and Joseph R. Addenbrook of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments on Laskin Road. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Boys Home in Covington, Va.
