Ray Canfield Jr.
Ray B. Canfield Jr., 69, of Dallas City, Ill., died at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at his home.
Born Dec. 15, 1935, in Dallas City, he was the son of Ray B. Sr. and Eva Belle Carnes Canfield. On Jan. 28, 1960, he married Marjorie Brook in San Pedro, Calif. She died Sept. 25, 2002.
Mr. Canfield worked as a production engineer on aircraft for Hydroform USA in California for many years. He retired in 1995.
He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1954 to 1958. He moved back to Dallas City after retiring.
Survivors include three sisters, Betty Whittles of Turlock, Calif., Eileen Bissell of Creve Coeur, Ill., and his twin sister, Rayma Rea of Dallas City; and special friend and companion, Susie Timmerman.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one great-nephew and his parents.
There will be no visitation.
The graveside service with military rites for Mr. Canfield will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Harris Cemetery near Dallas City, with the Rev. Doug Clark officiating.
A memorial has been established for Blessing Hospice of Hancock County.
Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City is in charge of arrangements.
