CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – John Wayne "Chip" Parsons, 46, Clinton Township, passed away April 2, 2007, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
He was born Feb. 3, 1961, in Daviess County, the son of James C. and Ruth (Butcher) Parsons, and was a former resident of Anderson, Ind.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Men's Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion. He had worked for 20 years as an automotive lighting engineer for Guide Corp. He enjoyed being an association dart player for the Indiana Dart Association.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie (Hughes) Parsons, whom he married Oct. 31, 2006; one stepdaughter, Jennifer (husband, John) Thurber of Greenfield; three stepgrandchildren, Nigel, Lillian and Grace Thurber, all of Greenfield; two sisters, Linda Parsons of Loogootee and Sharon Parsons of Memphis, Mo.; three brothers, Donald Ray Parsons of Odon, David L. Parsons of Montgomery and James Parsons Jr. of Omega, Ga.; nine nieces and nephews; and his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Rita Hughes of Anderson, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Ruth Parsons.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington, Ind., with the Rev. James Koressel officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
