Mrs. Sarah Allen died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. F. Houghton, at 412 North Lafayette avenue Saturday evening. Sunday she was taken to Stafford, KS for burial beside her husband. Mrs. Allen came to Chanute with Mr. & Mrs. Houghton last December. They had been living between Fredonia and Chanute. Death was caused by paralysis. She was 72 years old. Merritt Allen, her son, came here from Stafford and went back with the body.
