Owen Spencer Adams was born the 30th of January 1861 in Boon County, Kentucky. His parents were Arthur Connely Adams (1824 to 1901) and Mary Ann Mason (1828 to 1901). The fifth of seven children, his siblings were Elizabeth Jane Adams Strickland, William Seth "Billie" Adams, Lydia Ann Adams, Zurilda Alice Adams Rench Jones, Harriet Adelia Adams Burnes, and Anne Hester "Minnie" Adams.

Owen and Emma Elizabeth Beck were married on the 19th of January in 1887 in Edinberg, Christian County, Illinois. Owen was twenty-five years old, Emma seventeen. They had a total of nine children.

1. Cyrus Edgar Adams (1887 to 1953) married Sarah McClusky and had two children.

2. Essie Elnora Adams (1889 to 1966) married Walter Rehorn and had three boys.

3. Charles Manford Adams (1890 to 1956) married Ethel McFeeters.

4. James Frankliln Adams (1895 to 1948) never married.

After Owen and Emma were married, the family moved to Black Creek, Missouri before relocating to Arkansas by the 1910 census. Owen was a farmer and they moved next door to the McClusky family, the future in-laws of his oldest son.

Owen died on the 16th of January 1922 in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas at the age of sixty. He and Emma had been married for thirty-five years and are both buried at the Pleasant Plains Cemetery.

PLEASANT PLAINS
O. S. Adams, a respected citizen who resided some miles north of town, died Tuesday the 16th and was buried on Thursday following at the Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
