Ned was called Grandpap and was described as being about as wide as he was tall. He was red headed (in his younger days), left handed and about as independent as a "hog on ice". He was a blacksmith by trade and a good one too. He had several children by two different wives, thus he has many descendants with a lot of them being in Missouri and Arkansas.
