Jazz Musician. Born Anthony Sciacca, he was one of the most versatile jazz clarinet players of the 20th century. He mastered the bebop craze and was known for his lyricism and romanticism. He performed with Claude Thornhill, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Sarah Vaughan, Charlie Parker and Billie Holiday. Among his albums are "The Touch of Tony Scott" (1956), "The Modern Art of Jazz" (1957), "Music for Zen Meditation" (1964), "Tony Scott in Afrika" (1997) and "A Jazz Life" (2007). He traveled the world touring, persevered collaboration with other musicians and defined early examples of New Age music. He was also well regarded as a composer and arranger. He died of cancer.
