The second child of George Goulder Parker and Florence Elizabeth (Bessie) Fisher Parker, Helen was born March 10, 1906 in Woods Cross, Davis County, Utah. She was born at home, healthy, blue eyed and fair-haired growing up in Salt Lake City,UT. Helen was a talented artist. To support herself & daughter during the depression Helen tinted photos & rented a spot at the end of the lunch counter at Woolworth's in Salt Lake sketching customer's portraits. She worked as head buyer & window designer for almost 30yrs. for Mr.& Mrs. Stucki, owners of LaRie's in Sugar House.

Helen was married to Theodore Melvin Morriss,Jr. & Irvin Wesley Story, Jr. Both marriages ended in divorce. On Oct. 3,1936 Helen married Frank Barnes in Salt Lake City. They were married for 40 years.

Helen is remembered as the most generous of mothers and grandmothers. Her beauty, style and sense of humor are unforgettable. At her death she left behind a great family who loved and still misses her. They included her eldest daughter, Helen Jeanne (Morriss) Stanworth, husband Garn of Blythe,CA. Her youngest daughter, Eleanor Patricia(Barnes)Martin of Salt Lake City, UT., step-daughter, Donna(Barnes)Beals, husband Howard of LaCresenta,CA. Included are 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The funeral was held at Larkin Funeral Home on May 14, 1977, Salt Lake City,UT. Burial followed at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
