Following their wedding ceremony April 24, 1882 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salina Kansas, Nicholas and Jane Cecilia Giersch Lux went to live in Topeka, as members of St. Joseph's Church. All eight of their children were baptized in this church, and several were married there.

Children born to this marriage were:
Jane C. Lux, b. Feb 28, 1883
Josephine C. Lux, b. Oct. 26, 1885
Mary Gertrude Lux, b. Feb. 24, 1887
Francis Lux, b. 1889
Flora Lux, b. 1889
William Lux, b. Dec. 2, 1891
Nicholas Lux, b. April 27, 1894
Oscar Lux, b. Oct. 14, 1895

The twins, Flora and Francis, died as infants. Francis died first and Flora died a short time later. My grandmother said the doctor told her mother that the baby Flora did not survive because she grieved over the loss of her twin Francis.

Jane (Giersch) Lux passed away October 29, 1929 in Topeka, Kansas. She shares a tombstone with her husband Nicholas and the twins Francis and Flora at Mount Calvary in Topeka, Kansas
