John M. Britain, Jr., of Groves, passed away Monday at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
John was born in Coryell City, Texas to John M. Britain, Sr. and Maude Ellen Edwards Britain. He was a resident of Groves for over fifty years and was a longtime member of Groves First United Methodist Church. He retired from Gulf Oil after thirty five years of service as a senior accounting clerk. He was a member of Port Arthur Masonic Lodge #l264.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Frances N. Britain.
Survivors include his three sons, John M. Britain, III and wife, Tonia, Charles D. Britain and wife, Eudora, Larry M. Britain and wife, Hallie; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
