OBITUARY for Emery Joseph Prejean
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at a 1:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Emery Joseph Prejean, 90, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his home in Scott surrounded by his family.

Entombment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery Mausoleum in Scott.

Very Reverend Thomas Voorhies, VF, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Karla Youngblood. Giftbearers will be Heather Barrett and Hannah Fusilier.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Ann Prejean and her husband, Mark of Carencro and Anna Prejean Bernard and her husband, Roger, Jr. of Lafayette; two sons, Allan D. Prejean and his fiancé, Paula of Lafayette and John Ray Prejean of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Duane and Daniel Prejean, Heather Barrett, Hannah Fusilier, Taylor and Ty Bernard; great grandchildren, Ryder and Demi Barrett, Amalee and Adaline Fusilier, Anastasia, Aliahna, and Daniel, Jr., and Mason Bernard; one sister, Uann Foreman and one half sister, Peggy Powell.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Rita Sonnier Prejean; his parents, Pavie Prejean and Laura Ancelet; step-sisters and a half brother.

A native of Lafayette and resident of Scott for most of his life, Mr. Prejean was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He worked at the Cetco Oilfielfd Service as a Maintenance Technician for over 15 years until his retirement. He also worked as a Dairy Farmer and as a Bus Driver for 25 years. He was a current member of the Knights of Columbus, Dairyman's Association and Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Community. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mr. Prejean will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Duane, Daniel, and Mark Prejean, Taylor, Ty and Roger Bernard, Jr.

A Rosary will be prayed on Monday at 12:45 P.M. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home's Scott Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on 9:00 A.M. until time of services.

Donations in memory of Mr. Emery J. Prejean can be made to the organization of your choice.
